HIV in particular is a life threatening disease and there for it is not “discrimination” to not allow performers who are HIV positive to work just as it’s not discrimination to send a sick kid home from school. We cannot guarantee performers are taking ART or PrEp regularly (it’s hard enough to take birth control every day) at this point we don’t have a way to test viral loads every day, which in the future could be an option. If you are HIV+ and feel discriminated against why would you take it personal? Why would you want to spread that? There are other jobs in the industry like writing scripts or editing…. I have compassion for you, at this time I want to keep myself and fellow performers HIV free. ”
